Mr. Kinach is a founding partner of Emerstone Capital Partners.
Jaroslav Kinach is currently President of Iskander Energy Corp., a private Canadian company involved in exploration and production of conventional and non-conventional energy, and a director of DeNovo, a private company involved in developing and providing high tech solutions to the financial and corporate sectors.
Mr. Kinach started his professional career in Canada with the Toronto Dominion Bank where he spent more than 20 years in several roles of increasing responsibility involving trade finance, leasing, and corporate and international finance.
From January 1995 to November 1999, Jaroslav was Ukraine Country Head of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Following EBRD, Mr. Kinach served as advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine under a Canadian government program to provide policy advice on attracting foreign investment. During this period, J. Kinach also assisted the city of Kyiv with its debut US$150 million Eurobond issue. In 2003, Mr. Kinach returned to the private sector and helped launch the $136 million IPO for XXI Century Investments Public Limited, a Ukrainian real estate company on AIM/LSE in December 2005. Following the global financial crisis in 2008-09, as Executive Director and Member of the Board of XXIC, Jaroslav played a key role in working with shareholders and strategic investors to recapitalize and restructure XXIC under new owners. J Kinach resigned from XXIC in November 2011. Between2003 and 2008, Jaroslav served as independent Director on the boards of Chagala Group Limited, a LSE listed real estate company operating in Kazakhstan; and was non-executive Chairman of Fabian Romania Limited, an AIM listed real estate company operating in Romania. While director of these companies, J. Kinach also served as chairman of their respective audit committees, in addition to participating in other board committees. More recently, Jaroslav was also a Director on the board of Black Iron Inc., a Toronto-listed company which plans to develop an iron ore mine and processing facility in Ukraine.
Jaroslav Kinach holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, New York; a BA from Concordia University, Montreal; and is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
